Scouts

When

We run two Scout troops, which meet during term time at Scout HQ for two hours from 7pm on Wednesdays and Thursdays. We also run other nights for specialist activities and camps.

What

Scouts are at the age where they can experience the true adventure that Scouting has to offer – from arts and crafts in the HQ to climbing, kayaking, hiking, raft building, and much more! Each scout troop consists of small units of six to eight scouts called a patrol, usually led by a patrol leader. 1st Hassocks Scouts try to spend as much time outdoors as possible. We run a number of camps, given camps are really at the heart of Scouting. Throughout the year, Scouts learn various skills, such as map reading, camp cooking and first aid in preparation for camp.
